Thickened Mince

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 8 oz mushrooms
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • Gravy browning
  • 1 pt water

Method

  1. Brown meat, if there is a lot of fat drain it off.
  2. Remove from pan, brown onions in same pan
  3. Return meat to pan with onions.
  4. Dissolve flour and gravy browning in water. Add to pan
  5. Bring to the boil, then simmer, very gently for an hour or so.
  6. Add the mushrooms and simmer for another 30 mins
  7. If it doesn’t look thick enough, add a little more flour and cook for another 15 mins.
